III. President’s Remarks
a. Politics: no budget approved, but please continue to show support of Gov. Wolf’s budget. Send emails.
b. November Elections: two write-in candidates: Bob Huffman and John Smith.
c. Apple from PSEA shows the candidates to support for PA Supreme court. Christine Donahue, Kevin Dougherty, David Wecht.
d. Negotiation Update: Ann Catrillo, Joe Formica, and Paul Kernan will begin building visits October 6, 2015. The team, begins to negotiate with the district in January.
e. Emergency school closing AR says professional staff does not report. It will be determined if the day is forgiven or must be made up later.
f. The district has a suicide awareness policy. See your guidance office.
g. MOU’s are posted under your contract section on the website.
i MOU about PSSA or Keystone teachers who have no students or not enough students will use the school score in their observation.
ii VLN MOU – we have teachers in brick and mortar teaching virtual on schedule B. At the end of the year the program will meet and be evaluated. There will also be quarterly meetings.
IV. Committee Reports
a. Treasurer – Wayne Carson reports a current bank balance of $51,696.40.
b. Membership – Scott Hnasko reports a current membership of 592 and PACE donations of $2,478.00. A reminder that members can make PACE donations at any time.
c. PACE – Jennifer Agolino reminds members that no dues dollars goes to political action, only PACE donations does. PSEA recommends Christine Donahue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht for Judge.
d. Communications – Dan Phillips is updating the web page.

VI. New Business
a. Question – Why the change in the in-service hours? To put the school district on the same time schedule and split the start time difference in the middle.
b. Question – About Aesop, The buildings seem to be having trouble getting subs. Is the Association doing anything about this? Yes, we have been presenting these AESOP issues to the district at every meeting.
c. Member comment: Allegedly another district pays substitutes more money. It is possible that substitutes take our job, then drop it when they can take a higher paying job with another district. This is a concern.
d. Question – Is there an educational reason why we are putting in-service days at the end of the year? It began with the support staff’s new contract in an effort to get everyone working at the same time.
